RTV Vojvodina apologizes to viewers and undergoes leadership changes

Radio-televizija Vojvodine (RTV) issued a public apology during its 17:00 news broadcast, admitting that the public service provider failed to fulfill its mission for years. The broadcaster acknowledged it had practiced one-sided reporting, failed to ask critical questions, and ignored significant events, such as the recent election celebrations of the Student List.

Following the apology, several leadership changes were announced. Nenad Ćaćić resigned from his position as acting editor-in-chief of the First TV Program. He is to be replaced by Blažo Popović. Additionally, Predrag Novković has been appointed as the program director. These changes followed discussions between RTV General Director Goran Karadžić, employees, and the ‘Nezavisnost’ union, which had previously demanded accountability for the broadcaster’s lack of editorial integrity.

Other resignations within the organization include Verica Batić, acting director of the First Radio Program, and Vesna Iskrin, editor of the web editorial office. Aleksandar Grujić has been named to replace Batić.
