Radom Cathedral holds memorial Mass for Bishop Jan Chrapek

A memorial Mass was held at the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Radom to mark the 25th anniversary of the tragic death of Bishop Jan Chrapek. Bishop Marek Solarczyk presided over the liturgy, which was attended by the family of the late bishop, his colleagues, and friends.

During the service, Bishop Solarczyk highlighted the legacy of Bishop Chrapek, who served as the Bishop of Radom from 1999 to 2001. The homily emphasized the importance of being a light for others, drawing parallels between the life of Bishop Chrapek and Saint John Paul II.

Bishop Chrapek's brother, Marek Chrapek, spoke at the event, describing his brother as someone who ‘burned himself out for others like a candle,’ providing warmth and guidance to the sick, the elderly, and children. The ceremony also included participation from local hospital chaplains and representatives of various initiatives that Bishop Chrapek had supported during his ministry.
