Radom commemorates 50th anniversary of Father Roman Kotlarz's death

Commemorative ceremonies were held in Radom to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of Father Roman Kotlarz, a priest known for his role during the Radom June 1976 workers' protests. The events included the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and the decision by the Radom County Council to name its assembly hall after him.

During a formal session, the newly established ‘Father Roman Kotlarz Medal of the Year’ was awarded to several individuals for their efforts in preserving his memory and spiritual legacy. Recipients included Bishop Marek Solarczyk and Eugeniusz Kotlarz, among others.

Regarding his religious status, Father Andrzej Wąsik, the postulator for the beatification process, announced that the diocesan stage of the investigation could be completed by spring 2027, after which the case will be submitted to the Holy See.
