Radom completes restoration of historic tenement polychrome

The restoration of a historic polychrome in a tenement house located at Żeromskiego 23 in Radom has been completed. The building is listed in the register of monuments and the Municipal Register of Monuments.

Conservation and renovation works have been ongoing for several years, previously funded by the Mazovian Voivodeship Conservator of Monuments and the Marshal's Office of the Mazovian Voivodeship. This year's project focused on the interior polychrome, which received a 90,000 PLN grant from the city. Art conservator Michalina Brzozowska noted that approximately 30 percent of the original painting had been damaged and had never undergone prior restoration.

Mayor Radosław Witkowski highlighted the project as a successful example of cooperation between the city and private owners. City authorities are currently working on updating regulations regarding conservation grants to make it easier for private owners and managers of historic properties to secure support for preserving Radom's cultural heritage.
