Radomyr Stelmakh finishes eighth in horizontal bar final at European Gymnastics Championships

At the European Gymnastics Championships in Zagreb, German gymnast Radomyr Stelmakh finished eighth in the horizontal bar final after a fall during a flight element, scoring 12.000 points. The event was won by Great Britain’s Joe Fraser with 14.300 points.

In the parallel bars competition, Illia Kovtun secured his second gold medal of the championships, representing Croatia. Kovtun won with a score of 14.700, succeeding Nils Dunkel, who was unable to compete due to a hand infection.

The vault final saw Ukrainian Nazar Chepurnyi take first place with 14.566 points, ahead of Russia’s Alexej Usatschew. Due to interventions by the Croatian government, athletes from Russia and Belarus competed without national flags, anthems, or symbols, appearing under the designations ‘World Gymnastics 1’ and ‘World Gymnastics 2’ respectively.
