Radosław Sikorski affirms European support for Ukraine
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that democratic Europe stands firmly behind Ukraine. During a meeting of allies in Kyiv involving leaders such as Emmanuel Macron, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Giorgia Meloni, discussions focused on increasing pressure on Russia to end the war.
Sikorski called for allies to provide more Patriot missiles and urged the U.S. Congress to increase economic pressure on Russia. He noted that the Russian economy is currently facing a record budget deficit and declining oil revenues.
Regarding the conflict's progression, Sikorski suggested that Russia is relying on two main strategies: mobilization and the harsh winter. He warned that if Russia fails to break Ukrainian resistance through attacks on energy systems and heating during the winter, conditions for a ceasefire may emerge. However, he emphasized that only the aggressor has the power to end the war by stopping its attacks.
