Radosław Sikorski predicts Russian resource depletion if Ukraine survives winter

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that Russia’s resources will likely begin to run out next year, provided Ukraine survives the upcoming winter. Speaking at an event in northern Poland, Sikorski described the current situation on the 1,200-kilometer front line as a stalemate, noting that Russian offensives have stalled despite rising casualty rates.

Sikorski suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin is relying on two primary strategies: a partially covert mobilization of approximately 200,000 additional troops to attempt a breakthrough, and the destruction of energy infrastructure to leverage the impact of extreme winter weather.

The Foreign Minister urged the Polish public and European nations to increase humanitarian and energy-related aid, specifically calling for power generators to help Ukraine maintain critical infrastructure. He also noted that Western nations and the European Union possess significant financial leverage, including frozen Russian assets.
