Radostovice honors adventurer and writer Zdeněk Matěj Kuděj

Sculptor Radomír Dvořák has created a new work in Radostovice centered on Zdeněk Matěj Kuděj, a colorful figure associated with the famous author Jaroslav Hašek. Kuděj was an adventurer, journalist, and writer whose life included experiences in America, where he worked in laundries and searched for gold.

After returning to his homeland, Kuděj began writing his experiences, eventually leading to a career in journalism. Encouraged by Hašek, he also wrote a parody titled ‘Tarzan’s Grandmother’. The two authors were known to have traveled together through the Vysočina region during the early 20th century.
