Radu Benea wins second consecutive National Hillclimb title

Radu Benea has secured the National Hillclimb Championship title in Category I for the second consecutive year. Driving a Ferrari 488 Challenge for the Canova Racing team, Benea clinched the championship mathematically following his performance at the Mediaș Cup, the penultimate stage of the season.

During the event in Mediaș, Benea set and subsequently broke the course record for the tourism category, finishing with a time of 1:27.467, which was more than two seconds faster than his own previous record. His victory in both heats ensured he remains untouchable heading into the final stage in Poiana Brașov.

The podium at Mediaș included Bogdan Duma in second place and 18-year-old Nicolas Benea in third. Nicolas Benea made history as the youngest pilot in the discipline to secure a top-three finish in the tourism category under the championship's new format.
