RADWIMPS to perform theme song for drama ‘Political Pan’

The musical group RADWIMPS will perform the theme song for the upcoming Fuji TV drama ‘Political Pan’, scheduled to premiere in October 2026. The new song, titled ‘Shabadaba’, was written specifically for the series.

The drama stars Satomi Ishihara as Yayoi Kisaragi, a phantom thief who infiltrates the political world to seize illicit funds. The series is written by Akiko Nogi, marking her first collaboration with Ishihara in approximately eight years since the drama ‘Unnatural’.

Lead singer Yojiro Noda stated that the production team requested a song that would “break the existing concept of a drama theme song,” prompting him to create a track fueled by “irritation and resentment.” Producer Taku Kitano noted that the collaboration was inspired by Noda’s social media comments regarding interest in edgy musical collaborations.
