Rafa Jódar maintains solo coaching team amid rapid rise in tennis rankings

Spanish tennis player Rafa Jódar is experiencing a rapid ascent in the professional rankings, currently holding a provisional world ranking of 11th and 7th in the ATP Race. At 19 years old, Jódar has exceeded initial expectations, having reached at least the quarterfinals in eight of his last nine tournaments.

Jódar continues to follow a specific developmental plan established with his father, who serves as his sole coach. Despite numerous offers from academies and professional coaches to join his team, the pair has decided to maintain their current structure through 2027 to focus on learning and experience.

As part of his North American tour, Jódar is scheduled to compete in Cincinnati against Canada's Denis Shapovalov. This match marks his eleventh tournament in eighteen days as he prepares for the upcoming US Open.
