Montreal Masters 1000: Shelton and Nakashima set up all-American final

The Montreal ATP Masters 1000 tournament concluded with a historic all-American men's singles final between Ben Shelton and Brandon Nakashima. Shelton, the defending champion, secured his place in the final after a dominant 6-3, 6-1 victory over Jakub Mensik. Nakashima reached the final by defeating the rising Spanish star Rafael Jodar 7-6, 6-4 in a closely contested match where Jodar fought back to save four match points before Nakashima sealed the win with an ace.

In the men's doubles category, Brazilians Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos made history by becoming the first all-Brazilian duo to win an ATP Masters 1000 title. They defeated the third-seeded pair of Marcelo Arévalo and Mate Pavić in a three-set comeback, with final scores of 5-7, 6-4, and 10-6 in a super tiebreak.

Rafael Jodar’s performance in Montreal marked a significant milestone in his breakthrough season, as the 19-year-old reached his first Masters 1000 semifinal and moved closer to the world top 10.
