Rafał Trzaskowski leads social media engagement among Polish city presidents

A report by the Institute for Media Monitoring (IMM) analyzing Facebook interactions from July shows that Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski dominates social media engagement among Polish city presidents. Out of 774 analyzed posts, Trzaskowski’s content accounted for approximately 60% of all interactions, totaling over 329,000 reactions despite representing only 6.7% of the published content.

Following Trzaskowski, Gdańsk President Aleksandra Dulkiewicz ranked second with 57,500 interactions, and Łódź President Hanna Zdanowska ranked third with 41,700. Jacek Sutryk, President of Wrocław, followed closely in fourth place.

The analysis indicates that users engage most heavily with content regarding scandals and irregularities rather than administrative achievements. The most significant driver of engagement was the controversy surrounding the Southern Hospital in Warsaw. Specific high-engagement posts included the announcement of the resignations of vice-presidents Renata Kaznowska and Aldona Machnowska-Góra, as well as subsequent posts regarding their successors and promises of accountability.
