Rafael Amargo and partner released after violent Madrid home altercation

Spanish dancer Rafael Amargo and his partner, Luciana Bongianino, have been released on provisional liberty following a violent incident at their home in the Carabanchel district of Madrid.

The altercation occurred in the early hours of Saturday after a 38-year-old man allegedly broke a window and entered the residence by force. During the ensuing chaos, which prompted several neighbor alerts, a physical confrontation broke out involving the occupants, the intruder, and responding police officers.

Amargo faces charges of alleged assault against authority and injuries after reportedly biting a police officer's arm during the intervention. Bongianino is being investigated for alleged injuries. The intruder was also detained for trespassing, threats, and property damage.

During his court appearance, Amargo reportedly appeared visibly nervous and acted discourteously toward the judge and prosecutor. His lawyer, Marcos García Ortega, apologized for his client's behavior, attributing it to the psychological shock and stress caused by the home invasion.
