Rafael Santos Borré returns to River Plate on five‑year deal

Colombian striker Rafael Santos Borré has rejoined River Plate, signing a contract that runs until December 2029. River paid US$2.5 million to Inter de Porto Alegre to acquire his registration, and Borré took part in his first training session with the club on Tuesday. The forward said on social media, “Algunas historias nunca terminan,” marking his return to the Monumental after a five‑year spell in Brazil where he made 104 appearances and scored 28 goals.

Inter, now preparing for the upcoming season, have begun scouting replacements for the departing striker. The club has identified Jhon Córdoba of Russian side Krasnodar and Uruguayan forward Maxi Gómez of Nacional as primary targets to fill the centre‑forward role.

Borré’s move is expected to strengthen River’s attacking options ahead of the Argentine Clausura, while Inter seeks to rebuild its front line before the next campaign.
