Rafael Cavada removed from Chilevisión broadcast following health incident

Journalist Rafael Cavada was recently removed from the air during a Chilevisión news broadcast after appearing to have difficulty speaking. While initial speculation suggested alcohol consumption, journalist Cecilia Gutiérrez reported that the incident was caused by a health issue involving a severe cold, fever, and throat pain.

Gutiérrez noted that Cavada had consumed alcohol at home the previous night, but stated his condition was primarily due to a pharmacological interaction between cold medication, mental health medication, and alcohol. Reports indicate that Cavada initially refused a request from the network to stay off-screen that day due to his illness. Following the incident, Cavada was reportedly summoned by Chilevisión news director Jorge Cabezas to provide explanations regarding the event.
