Rafael Camara wins first Formula 2 race in Barcelona
Brazilian driver Rafael Camara, a Ferrari Driver Academy member racing for Invicta Racing, secured his first Formula 2 victory in the feature race at the Barcelona‑Catalunya Grand Prix on 14 June 2026. Camara started from pole position, lost the lead to Alex Dunne into Turn 1, and after an early safety‑car period caused by Oliver Goethe’s stalled car, executed a long soft‑tyre stint before pitting on Lap 22. He re‑joined in ninth, rapidly overtook the field and reclaimed the lead on Lap 30 to win.
Nikola Tsolov, the Red Bull junior, finished second and took over the drivers’ championship lead, three points ahead of Gabriele Mini, who dropped to fourth. Alex Dunne completed the podium in third. The result moves Camara to third in the standings with 69 points, after earlier setbacks in Monaco and Canada. Camara said the win “shows we are very strong” and highlighted the team’s strategy as decisive.
The race featured a safety‑car deployment on the opening lap and highlighted the importance of tyre management in the current season.
