Rafael delivers 1,000th Typhoon naval weapon system to Israeli Navy

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems has delivered its 1,000th Typhoon remotely‑operated naval weapon station, marking a major milestone for the world’s most widely deployed naval weapon system. The Typhoon family is in service with the Israeli Navy and 25 other navies, including the United States, Canada and Australia, providing rapid, precise protection against surface, aerial and drone threats.

The latest delivery adds 30‑mm Typhoon modules to Israeli Sa’ar 6‑class corvettes and other vessels as part of a broader fleet‑modernisation programme. Rafael plans further installations of upgraded Typhoon and Mini‑Typhoon systems in the coming years, replacing older equipment and expanding automated fire‑control, high‑capacity ammunition storage and advanced air‑burst munitions. CEO Yoav Tourgeman said the achievement reflects continued confidence in the system’s ability to safeguard naval freedom of action worldwide.
