Rafael Devers joins rare group of San Francisco Giants hitters

San Francisco Giants hitter Rafael Devers has achieved a rare statistical milestone, becoming the first player in the franchise to record at least 35 doubles and 35 home runs in a single season since Jeff Kent in 2002. Devers joins an elite group of Giants in franchise history, including Hall of Famers Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Barry Bonds, and Mel Ott.

After a slow start to the 2026 season in April, Devers has seen a significant resurgence. Following his acquisition by the Giants in June 2025, he has maintained strong performance levels, particularly in September, where he has hit .391 with five home runs in six games. His full-season statistics currently stand at a .258/.338/.517 slash line with 35 home runs.
