Rafael Jodar Selected for Team Europe at Laver Cup and to Debut at Washington ATP 500

Nineteen‑year‑old Spaniard Rafael Jodar was named by captain Yannick Noah to Team Europe for the Laver Cup, which will be staged at the O2 Arena in London from 25 to 27 September. He joins Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, Flavio Cobolli and Jakub Mensik as the fifth confirmed player, with one spot still open. Jodar, who claimed his first ATP title in Marrakech and reached the French Open quarter‑finals, was praised as “one of the biggest young talents in our sport.”

After Wimbledon, Jodar returns to the hard‑court season at the ATP 500 event in Washington, where he will open his singles draw against France’s Arthur Fils (world No. 23). He will also play doubles with American partner Nakashima. The draw is described as very challenging, and Jodar is currently ranked No. 25.

Both the Laver Cup and the Washington tournament are key steps in Jodar’s breakout 2026 season.
