Rafael Leao discusses Galatasaray transfer and Süper Lig competition

Portuguese forward Rafael Leao has addressed his recent transfer to Galatasaray and his impressions of the Turkish Süper Lig. Speaking following a Nations League match with Portugal, Leao expressed surprise at the high level of competition and quality within the Turkish league, noting that the project offered by Galatasaray was highly convincing.

Leao revealed that his move to the Turkish club followed a strategic decision by his entourage to wait until the end of the summer transfer window before finalizing his future. His lawyer, Antonio Leo, confirmed that while the relationship with his former club, Milan, was emotionally strong, the technical relationship had effectively concluded prior to the end of the season.

Despite a slow start in Turkey, where he has yet to record a goal or assist in four appearances, Leao remains focused on helping Galatasaray achieve its goal of a fifth league championship. He also noted that he is working to reach peak physical condition after missing pre-season training.
