Spain and Mexico announce new national team squads

National football managers for Spain and Mexico have announced their first squads following the 2026 World Cup.

Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has named a 26-man roster for the UEFA Nations League. The squad includes newcomers Roberto Fernández and Josep Martínez, alongside the return of Dean Huijsen and Fermín López. Notable absences include Joan García due to injury, as well as Gavi and Borja Iglesias. Spain is scheduled to face England, Croatia, and the Czech Republic.

Mexico manager Rafael Márquez has released a 30-player roster for a series of friendly matches in the United States against Colombia, Peru, the USA, and Chile. The squad features the return of Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano and goalkeeper Álex Padilla, as well as Germán Berterame. However, the team will be without Raúl Jiménez, Julián Quiñones, and Edson Álvarez due to injury or lack of recent playing time. The roster shows a strong presence from Club Guadalajara, providing six players to the national team.
