Rafael Márquez announces squad strategy for Mexico debut

Rafael Márquez has announced his strategy for his first call-up as the new head coach of the Mexico national football team. To ensure continuity, Márquez intends to maintain the core group of players utilized by previous coach Javier Aguirre during the World Cup, rather than implementing immediate, sweeping changes.

Márquez's debut on the sidelines will take place on September 26 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, where Mexico will face Colombia. This will be followed by a match against Peru in New Jersey on September 29. The schedule continues in October with a match against the United States in Arizona on October 3 and a final fixture against Chile in Los Angeles on October 6.

This initial phase is designed to build upon existing team dynamics and collective functioning as the team begins its long-term process toward the 2030 World Cup.
