Rafael Márquez visits Club América training session

Mexico National Team coach Rafael Márquez, accompanied by assistant Andrés Guardado, visited Club América’s training facilities in Coapa on Tuesday. The visit occurred as the club prepares for the Clásico Nacional against Chivas.

Márquez used the session to observe various players, including Israel Reyes, Kevin Álvarez, Henry Martín, and Isaías Violante. He also monitored younger prospects such as ‘Coco’ Cárdenas and Diego Arriaga. The visit is part of a broader strategy to strengthen ties with Liga MX clubs and closely monitor potential national team candidates ahead of upcoming fixtures.

The national team is preparing for a series of matches, starting with a debut against Colombia on September 26 in Baltimore, followed by a match against Peru on September 29 in New York. Additional scheduled matches include games against the United States and Chile in October. Reports suggest the upcoming squad selection may be limited to a maximum of two players from each Liga MX club due to existing agreements.
