Nadal and Murray to lead teams at Rafa Nadal Academy Slam

Tennis legends Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray are set to face each other in a team-based exhibition match on October 3, 2026, at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor, Mallorca. The event, titled the ‘Rafa Nadal Academy Slam’, celebrates the tenth anniversary of the academy.

Murray has been confirmed as the captain of ‘Team Murray’, while Nadal will lead ‘Team Rafa’. Richard Gasquet has also been announced as a member of Nadal’s team. This event marks Nadal’s return to the court following his professional retirement in November 2024.

The two rivals have not competed against each other since the 2016 Mutua Madrid Open semifinals. The upcoming competition will feature a team format rather than a traditional head-to-head match, aiming to provide an entertaining atmosphere for fans celebrating a decade of the academy’s operations.
