Rafael Nadal faces privacy backlash after fan visits private home

A Dutch family has sparked significant social media controversy after tracking down and visiting the private residence of tennis legend Rafael Nadal in Manacor, Mallorca.

Following a visit to the Rafa Nadal Academy, Peter Stokje located Nadal’s home and rang the doorbell. Nadal opened the door and posed for photographs with the family, including his wife and daughter. Stokje shared the encounter on X, describing the house as “preciosa” and claiming Nadal found the spontaneous interaction “funny.”

However, the post drew widespread criticism from fans, journalists, and tennis commentators who labeled the act an invasion of privacy. Many noted Nadal’s visibly serious and surprised expression in the photos as evidence of discomfort. Critics argued that approaching a public figure’s private home without an invitation crosses a fundamental boundary of decency.
