Rafael Pavarotti exhibition to debut at Musée des Arts Décoratifs
The Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris will host a monographic exhibition dedicated to Brazilian photographer Rafael Pavarotti, opening on 2 October 2026. The exhibition, titled ‘Rafael Pavarotti, photographer’, aims to showcase the artist's rapid rise as a major figure in contemporary fashion imagery.
Curated by Sébastien Quéquet with scenography by Ibby Njoya, the collection will feature between 130 and 200 works. These include iconic magazine covers and portraits of global pop culture figures such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Harry Styles. Pavarotti's visual style is noted for its use of color as a tool for identity assertion, drawing deep inspiration from Afro-Indigenous Brazilian cultures.
The exhibition represents a significant moment for the museum, which has historically focused on European decorative arts, as it incorporates iconography from outside its traditional geographical and cultural boundaries.
