Rafael Poveda denies sexual and labor harassment allegations

Colombian journalist and producer Rafael Poveda has publicly responded to allegations of sexual and labor harassment. In a video released on social media, Poveda categorically denied the accusations, which involve testimonies from several women regarding incidents allegedly occurring between 2006 and 2013.

Poveda stated that while he respects the right of women to report misconduct and maintain anonymity, he is demanding sufficient information to exercise his right to a defense. He expressed concern that allegations were made public without providing him with the specific details—such as dates, locations, and contexts—necessary to respond responsibly.

The controversy intensified following a report by Revista RAYA, which published testimonies from four journalists. One of the mentioned cases involves journalist and lawyer Sofía Vela Mejía, who reportedly took her case to the Prosecutor's Office. Poveda suggested the allegations could be part of a defamation campaign, though he noted he lacks the evidence to confirm such a strategy.
