Rafe Judkins signs exclusive deal with Paramount Television Studios

Rafe Judkins, the showrunner behind the fantasy series ‘The Wheel of Time’, has signed an exclusive overall deal with Paramount Television Studios. The agreement tasks Judkins with creating, developing, and producing original scripted series for the studio as it seeks to expand its genre-based world-building content.

Separately, Prime Video executives have addressed the future of the ‘The Wheel of Time’ franchise following its cancellation after three seasons. Nicole Clemens, head of UK and international originals at Prime Video, stated at the Edinburgh TV Festival that there is currently no direct replacement for the series in development, though the platform remains open to large-scale fantasy projects.

While the live-action series will not continue, the franchise is expected to expand through new video games, animated feature films, and an animated television series led by producer Thomas Vu and iwot Studios.
