Raffaele Capparelli releases book on the evolution of art journalism

Journalist Raffaele Capparelli has released a new book, ‘Come si racconta l’arte’ (How to Tell the Story of Art), published by Pacini Editore. The work explores the evolving role of the cultural journalist in a digital age, moving from a traditional ‘guardian of the temple’ who legitimizes art to a ‘mediator of meaning’ who helps the public navigate information overload.

Developed through professional training programs supported by the Ordine dei Giornalisti della Toscana and the Fondazione OdG Toscana, the book features fourteen interviews with cultural professionals. These contributors include representatives from institutions such as Palazzo Strozzi, Palazzo Blu, Centro Pecci, and MACCA.

The text examines how museum communication has become a tool for community participation and emphasizes the importance of professional ethics and competence in interpreting an artist's intention and the work's deeper significance without falling into superficiality or mere aesthetic description.
