Raffaele De Rango, former Rende mayor and Confindustria leader, dies in Italy

Raffaele De Rango, a prominent Calabrian industrialist and former mayor of Rende, died on 7 August 2026. He held numerous positions, including president of Confindustria Cosenza, vice‑president of Ance Calabria, member of the Confindustria Calabria board, and regional councilor from 1990 to 1995. De Rango also served as mayor of Rende (1988‑1990) and was a long‑time councilor in the city.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, 9 August 2026 at 12:00 at the Church of Sant’Antonio in Rende. Mayor Franz Caruso of Cosenza expressed deep personal sorrow, calling De Rango “a friend, a man of great moral rigor and generosity.” Confindustria Cosenza president Giovan Battista Perciaccante and Ance Cosenza president Giuseppe Galiano also issued statements of condolence, highlighting his contributions to the local economy and civic life.
