Raffi Ahmad Seeks Legal Help After Name Cited in BlueRay Cargo Corruption Probe
Indonesian celebrity and presidential envoy for youth and arts Raffi Ahmad has requested lawyer Hotman Paris to represent him after his name was mentioned during the trial of PT BlueRay Cargo, a case involving alleged import bribery and gratuities. The duo plan to hold a press conference on 11 June 2026 to address the accusations.
Prosecutors are probing the broader scope of the investigation, and lawyer Hotman Paris has called for a comprehensive examination of all individuals named in the proceedings, including Ahmad. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained John Field, owner of BlueRay, for an initial 20‑day period as part of the inquiry.
Both parties emphasize that a name appearing in court does not automatically imply guilt and urge authorities to uncover the full chain of requests, benefits, and possible abuse of authority within the case.
