Rafina-Picremia workers demand municipality withdraw legal appeal

Employees at daycare centers and social welfare structures (KDAP) in the Municipality of Rafina-Picremia are calling on the local administration to withdraw its legal appeal against a court ruling that favored them. The workers, who are contract employees, have issued a formal protest describing their situation as a “cry of despair.”

Local political figures, including the Independent Faction and former Deputy Mayor Christos Tseberis, have voiced support for the employees. They argue that while previous legislation may have mandated such appeals, new legal frameworks allow for exceptions regarding social service personnel. They are urging the Municipal Council to reach a unanimous decision to drop the appeal to ensure job security and the continued operation of these essential social services.
