Rafina-Pikermi presents ‘En Archi Rebetiko’ musical theater production

The Culture Department of the Municipality of Rafina-Pikermi is presenting the second cycle of the musical theater production ‘En Archi Rebetiko’. Following a successful debut during the ‘Spring Nights of Frynichos Unplugged’ at the Theater of Arts, this production explores the history and evolution of Rebetiko music.

The performance traces a cultural journey from Smyrna through Piraeus to modern Greece, utilizing songs, narratives, and poetic references to present Rebetiko as a living art form rather than a museum piece. The production features performers Nikos Graigos, Natalia Dragoumi, and Sotiria Angelou.

Natalia Dragoumi serves as the director, narrator, and presenter, while Nikos Graigos provides artistic direction. Petros Kapellas serves as the orchestra and program editor and bouzouki soloist. The event is free to the public.
