Rafina-Pikermi to undergo urban redevelopment via Green Fund
The Municipality of Rafina-Pikermi has been included in the ‘ANASES for Attica’ program, an urban redevelopment initiative funded by the Green Fund. The project involves the renovation of Dimitrakou Square, aiming to upgrade the urban environment, increase green spaces, and create more functional public areas for residents and visitors.
The broader program covers 13 municipalities within the Attica Region and is designed to enhance the quality of life through systematic urban interventions. This specific project for Rafina-Pikermi is the result of ongoing cooperation between the municipality and the Attica Region.
In a separate local development, the municipal administration has installed new air conditioning units in two Community Centers for the Elderly (KAPI). However, this move has faced criticism from local commentator Andreas Vasilopoulos, who argues that adding appliances without addressing the buildings' thermal insulation is an inefficient approach that will lead to higher long-term energy costs for taxpayers.
