Ragunan Zoo celebrates 162nd anniversary with gorilla enrichment

Ragunan Zoo celebrated its 162nd anniversary in Jakarta with a special enrichment activity for Komu, a resident gorilla. To stimulate physical and mental activity, zoo officials introduced a new portable rolling barrel device designed to provide nutritional enrichment and encourage natural behaviors.

The celebration included a keeper talk session where visitors could learn about gorilla behavior, dietary needs, and general care. Endah Rumiyati, representing the zoo management, emphasized the institution's commitment to biodiversity education and wildlife conservation through these interactive public programs.
