Ragusa Consortium announces new pedestrian crossings on S.P. 67

The Libero Consorzio Comunale di Ragusa has announced a new safety project for the S.P. 67 road connecting Pozzallo and Ispica. The initiative includes the installation of 12 new pedestrian crossings equipped with central lifebuoys to improve safety, particularly during the summer season when pedestrian traffic to beach areas increases.

The project also involves upgrading intersections with new roundabouts to facilitate turns and U-turns. The first phase, scheduled to begin on September 21, will implement five pedestrian crossings within the territory of Pozzallo, followed by subsequent interventions in Ispica. The works are funded by the 2024 budget surplus and will be carried out by a local company from Ragusa.
