Ragusa Foto Festival brings contemporary photography to Sicilian Baroque

The XIV edition of the Ragusa Foto Festival is scheduled to take place from August 27 to September 27, 2026, in Ragusa Ibla, Sicily. Under the artistic direction of Alessandra Mauro and founder Stefania Paxhia, this year’s theme is ‘Mediterranean Archetypes’.

The festival utilizes the historic Baroque setting of Ragusa Ibla as a widespread exhibition platform, integrating contemporary photography into the city’s architectural fabric. Key venues include Palazzo Cosentini, Palazzo La Rocca, the Giardino Ibleo, and the former San Vincenzo Ferreri church.

The program features twelve exhibitions that facilitate a dialogue between international authors, established Italian masters, and emerging talents. One notable exhibition, ‘Dall’altra parte del Mediterraneo’ at Palazzo Cosentini, explores connections across Mediterranean shores, including works by Mous Lamrabat that blend fashion, pop culture, and Moroccan memory.
