Ragusa: PD raises concerns over Le Castillet student residence

The Democratic Party (PD) in Ragusa has filed an official inquiry regarding the deteriorating conditions of the Le Castillet university residence in Ibla. The municipal-owned building, currently leased to the Consorzio Universitario Ibleo, is reportedly facing significant hygiene and maintenance issues.

Local councilors, including Peppe Calabrese, reported finding humidity, cockroaches, and a lack of heating in student rooms. The ground floor, which houses reception and staff areas, also showed signs of neglect. While the facility has approximately 12 rooms and 19 beds, only four rooms are currently occupied.

In response to the findings, officials have requested inspections from health and safety authorities, including Spresal, Inail, and the local health authority (Asp). The PD is calling for immediate administrative action to ensure the building is safe and habitable for both students and staff.
