Ragusa Provincial Consortium promotes green space maintenance through private partnerships

The Libero Consorzio Comunale di Ragusa is working to enhance and maintain green spaces along its provincial road network through sustainable management and collaborations with private entities and non-profit associations.

The initiative covers 138 sites totaling approximately 80,000 square meters. Currently, 44 areas, encompassing about 28,000 square meters, are managed by private parties responsible for periodic maintenance, while the remaining sites are maintained by the Consortium’s own staff.

Beyond road intersections, maintenance efforts extend to other areas, such as the bicycle path along the SP 66 between Sampieri and Marina di Modica. The program encourages sponsorships and partnerships to improve local landscape quality and promote shared management of the environmental heritage in the Iblean territory.
