Rahayu Saraswati performs debut monologue on human trafficking victims' families
Actress and anti-human trafficking activist Rahayu Saraswati performed her debut monologue, titled “Kalau Bukan Aku” (If Not Me), at the Monoplay Festival 2026 held at Taman Ismail Marzuki in Jakarta on September 25, 2026.
Saraswati, who also serves as the Chairperson of the National Network Against Human Trafficking (Jarnas TPPO), wrote the script based on her experiences as an activist since 2009. The performance aims to highlight the voices of the families left behind by victims of human trafficking—voices that are often unheard or even stigmatized as a source of shame.
The script took approximately six months to write, edit, and revise. Through this monologue, Saraswati seeks to raise public awareness regarding the trauma and psychological wounds experienced by the families of trafficking victims, providing a platform for those who have been silenced.
