Raheem Sterling pleads guilty to dangerous driving

Former England international footballer Raheem Sterling has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and possession of nitrous oxide at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court. The charges stem from a May incident on the M3 motorway in Hampshire, where Sterling lost control of his Lamborghini Urus and crashed into safety barriers.

Police footage revealed the 31-year-old was driving erratically between lanes while inhaling nitrous oxide, commonly known as ‘laughing gas’. Following the collision, Sterling reportedly failed a field sobriety test and refused to undergo alcohol or blood analysis. Officers recovered six nitrous oxide cartridges from the vehicle.

Sterling, who has previously played for Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal, faces a potential prison sentence of up to two years for dangerous driving, alongside possible driving bans. The legal proceedings come at a difficult time for the striker, who has been without a club since last summer.
