Rahul Agarwal secures $350,000 for foldable spoon design

Indian-origin entrepreneur Rahul Agarwal, founder of Polygons Design, has secured a $350,000 investment on Shark Tank USA for his innovative measuring spoon set. The deal, featured in Season 18, Episode 4, involves an exchange for a 10% total stake, consisting of an 8% equity stake and 2% in advisory shares. The investment was provided by Lori Greiner and guest investor Mindy Kaling.

Inspired by origami, the Polygons measuring spoons utilize a flexible, fold-flat design that allows two compact tools to replace a traditional six-piece set. Users can change the shape of the utensils by pressing designated points to achieve different measurements. The tools are approximately 2.8 millimeters thick when flattened and include embedded magnets for attachment to magnetic surfaces like refrigerators.

Agarwal developed the concept in 2014 while studying at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India. His product has reportedly received more than 20 international design awards.
