Rahul Gandhi visits Rae Bareli to review development and meet constituents

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, conducted a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency of Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh. During the visit, Gandhi chaired a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) to review the progress of central government schemes and ongoing development works.

As part of his itinerary, Gandhi visited flood-affected areas in Shivgarh and Maharajganj to assess local damage and interact with residents. He also held meetings with various stakeholders, including gold and silver traders, medical professionals, and legal representatives from the Central Bar Association.

On the final day of his visit, Gandhi held a ‘Janata Darbar’ at the Bhimau Guest House, where a large number of citizens presented their grievances. The event also saw interaction with members of the Samajwadi Party, signaling political coordination between the Congress and the Samajwadi Party ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. During the session, representatives requested the establishment of a memorial for a Kargil War martyr, a request Gandhi promised to address.
