Rahul Gandhi condemns government after NEET exam leak deaths in Tamil Nadu

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Mamallapuram in Tamil Nadu to meet the families of three medical aspirants—Gopika, Roshini and Vetri Anandan—who died by suicide after a NEET question‑paper leak led to the exam’s cancellation and a forced re‑test. He said the leaked papers and cancelled exams destroyed years of preparation and pushed honest students to the brink.

Gandhi criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment that students should be “forgiven”, asserting that the government owes the families “truth, justice and an apology”. He described the education system as “broken and corrupt”, calling for fair examinations and respect for hard work. The remarks were shared on his X and Instagram posts, accompanied by video of his interaction with the bereaved families.
