Rahul Gandhi condemns PM Modi's 'forgiveness' of protesting students at Vaiko book launch

At a book‑launch event for former MP Vaiko in Delhi’s Constitution Club of India, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for saying he “forgives” the students protesting across the country. Gandhi said the students are in “severe pain”, demanding fair examinations and a functional education system, and argued they need an apology, not forgiveness. He blamed the ruling party’s alliance with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh for trying to rewrite history and warned that the Constitution guarantees each state the right to its own culture, language and history. The remarks were made alongside several senior politicians, including Farooq Abdullah and Tamil Nadu Education Minister A Rajmohan.
