Rahul Gandhi joins campaign to cancel NEET exam

Rahul Gandhi has joined a signature campaign calling for the cancellation of the NEET examination, an initiative led by the brother of a student who died by suicide due to the exam. Speaking to students at Island Grounds in Chennai, Gandhi addressed issues including flaws in the education system, paper leaks, rising tuition fees, and unemployment.

Gandhi also criticized the central government regarding Tamil Nadu, alleging that ₹3,300 crore intended for Tamil education has been withheld. He claimed that the role of Tamil-medium students in MBBS admissions has dropped by 87 percent due to NEET. Additionally, he raised concerns about the imposition of RSS ideologies in universities and the perceived suppression of the Tamil language and culture.

In a separate context regarding regional leadership, political figure Vijay has received national media attention for his recent conduct. Observers noted his ability to engage in bilingual discourse using Tamil and English while advocating for state interests, drawing comparisons to other regional leaders.
