Rahul Gandhi urges Madhya Pradesh CM to resolve OBC quota appointment delays

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has written to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav regarding delays in appointments under the state’s 27 per cent Other Backward Classes (OBC) reservation quota.

In his letter, Gandhi noted that during his ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ programme in Indore, students raised concerns regarding education and employment. He specifically highlighted that while candidates have passed examinations and completed selection formalities, many appointments have been stalled since 2022. This delay is attributed to the ‘87:13 formula’ adopted by the state government, which has kept 13 per cent of the earmarked posts on hold.

Gandhi urged the Chief Minister to intervene and resolve the issue to alleviate the distress of young candidates who have been forced to protest for their appointment letters.
