Rahul Gandhi video manipulated to show offensive remarks

A viral video circulating on social media, which purports to show Congress MP Rahul Gandhi making offensive and regressive remarks about women, has been identified as digitally manipulated.

The edited clips claim Gandhi stated that 80 percent of rapes are caused by women and suggested that women should be locked in cages and controlled. However, the full footage from the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ event in Pune reveals that Gandhi was actually quoting and criticizing statements attributed to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

In the original context, Gandhi was highlighting these specific remarks to argue against a regressive mindset and to advocate for women's equality, freedom, and rights. The viral versions of the video were created by removing the portions where he identifies and attributes the quotes to other politicians.
