Libera 2: Lunetta Savino returns as Judge in new Rai 1 season

The second season of the Italian drama series ‘Libera – Il Caso Elena Palma’ debuted on Rai 1 on October 25, 2026. Starring Lunetta Savino as Judge Libera Orlando, the new chapter follows her in her role as President of the Criminal Section of the Court of Trieste.

The plot centers on a high-profile trial involving a young rapper, Omar Alami, accused of the femicide of Elena Palma. Despite seemingly overwhelming evidence, Libera investigates inconsistencies in the case. The narrative also explores personal dynamics, including the relationship between Libera and Pietro Zanon, played by Matteo Martari, and the growing tension involving a key witness, Nina De Angelis.

Filmed primarily in Trieste and Muggia, the production utilizes iconic locations such as the Court of Justice and Palazzo Carciotti. The season premiere achieved significant viewership, drawing approximately 2.6 million viewers with a 16.9% share, securing the prime-time victory for Rai 1.
